- Growing up in the Foster System didn't give Hauled much confidence when it came to relationships. However, she had the tenacity and drive to put herself through Vet Tech school. Getting a job at the Quinn Valley veterinary shows her that she can have a real life. Excellent story!

- MS. Dawson never disappoints. Her characters are always believable, funny and inciteful. I love Quinn Valley and all who live there. I never pass up a chance to read about the happenings there.

Haylee Evans lived in Quinn Valley as a foster child for her Senior year in High School. She came to town a very unhappy young woman who had been in Foster care most of her young life. After graduating she put herself through school to become a Veterinary Tech. She also became guardian of her 13 year old sister Claire. Life seems to be turning around for Haylee.
Joel hires Haylee to join his staff at the clinic and offers the apartment above the clinic to Haylee and her sister as living quarters until they are able to find something suitable.
A call involving an animal rescue opens up a large can of worms for Haylee, Claire and adds some fallout to Joel as well.
Things are moving in a good direction for Joel and Haylee, but the drama that is stemming from the animal rescue will impact all of them in different ways. An HEA will come, and you will enjoy the story and the getting there.
Kay P.Dawson writes incredible stories from the heart. Her characters and story lines are always a joy to read. No details are left unturned.
You will appreciate the HEA of this story, and the incredible impact of the animals rescued.
I recieved an ARC of this book and am choosing to write an honest review. - Joel is a vet and he needs to hire a vet tech. Kaylee has finished her training and is looking for a job. Joel is liking her from the start. He hired her and then rents her the apartment above the clinic for her and her sister. They work great together and even go out to rescue some animals that have been left to starve and are diseased. They save the animals and she sees how loving and caring he is with animals. When the family that abused the animals decided to attack Haylee, Joel confronts them and let's them know he has pictures of the animals in the condition he found them and was willing to let everyone know what they had done, they backed off. Then he proposes and she accepts.
- A great story about a young woman who spent much of her life in foster care. While struggling to complete her education, she found she had a much younger sibling. There shear determination she managed to not only finish and obtain her degree but also finally was made guardian of her sister. They end up relocating to start a new life. After a few false starts and finally overcoming her embarrassments, they find themselves settled in a new town and part of a large extended family.
